Artist : ANTI...

Label : Eirkti

untitled / LP

Quite probably there hasn't existed any other group within the Greek underground scene that represented the synth-punk genre better than Anti... In fact, considering the band's uniquely performed sound-delirium as well as its straightforward anarchistic and generally rebellious versification, we would argue that it's unfortunate (though their members would consider it as fortunate) that Anti... has heretofore been unknown to the wide public and consequently, not regarded as one of the finest exemplars of minimalistic electronic punk in the international scene. Formed in 1981, Anti... presented their work for the 1st time in 1985, playing live in Pegasus (a well-known Athenian musical stage). The band, composed of 3 members (2 synthesizers & a bass) and a drum machine, performed an innovative mixture of punk and electronic music accompanied by corresponding socially, economically, politically and culturally wakeful lines. It was this idiosyncratic combination of a frantic sound performance and lyrics seething with an absolute rebellion ranging from the purely adolescent to the desperately mature plus the use of the Greek language rather than a foreign one, which reserved a special place for the group within the Greek underground music firmament. Anti... released 2 self-produced cassettes, a split album and participated in some compilations. Apparently, it needed 25 long years since the appearance of their original work (1986) until a full-work of the band could be released in vinyl. Basically, here is the re-release of Anti's 1st tape and the previously unreleased track "Last Beer" which was kept in the group's archive patiently waiting to see the light of day for more than 2 decades. All in all, 11 arousing compositions of a straightforward electronic punk idiom properly dressed with informative, remindful and overall riotous words. The only thing left now is to live this musical experience (limited to 500 numbered vinyl copies) hoping that you will enjoy it as strongly as we do ;)

audio warriors

Artist : Luke Eargoggle

audio warriors / CD

Very limited CD release, containing what is unarguably Luke's best production work thus far. Revisiting Bunker after guest spots on his own Stilleben label and the Catnip eps on which he collaborates with Legowelt, this is one amazing electro album. If you fetishize the imagined futures of darkstyle detroit music, or covet the kind of crazy, minimalistic robot sounds brother ron hardy kept down his trousers, then get this. Electro with a twitch then, eerie voices and a kind of twisted acidlined 'stiff white funk', the mighty Juan Atkins would be rightfully proud. Bad-intentioned vocal fuels the paranoia nearly to breaking point and an all in apocalyptic nightmare setting threatens to take all present gleefully over the edge and into the void. 'Split Personality' more than sums this up; cheery stuff!!. More future, more dark, more of everything than previous Bunkers, more Detroit, just give me more...

tomorrow is too far / I am god

Artist : Screen Vinyl Image / Rude 66

Label : Custom Made Music

tomorrow is too far / I am god / 7"

The Screen Vinyl Image / Rude 66 split 7" takes dark industrial electro sounds and edgy Wax Trax / 4AD era guitars and pushes them to the outer limits; offering up a heavy dose of new-wave futurism. Screen Vinyl Image, well known for putting on raging guitar feedback shows, are also no strangers to electronic music, and their track "Tomorrow Is Too Far" is possibly the furthest the band has gone yet in the realm of analog machines and horror/sci-fi themes. Rude 66, one of the founders of The Hague acid sound, and who has released records with Bunker, Crème Organization, Viewlexx and more, brings us "I Am God", a march into darkness filled with stabbing basses, cold synths, edgy guitars and vocoder vocals by wife Shauna Lekx, delivered in calculated bloodlust and horror. Tip !!

sound of suomi / CD

Now available on CD. Known for releasing music by artists initially regarded as strange before soon being accepted into the wider consciousness (eg Funkstorung, Legowelt, Bangkok Impact...), Bunker deliver another 12 tracks set of mostly unknown electronic arists.. but before you yawn and think "next!...", remember, this is Bunker from Finland, where the long polar nights are filled by either alcohol abuse, suicide, or the creation of extreme music... Check in here for moroder-style electro disco, pounding industrial techno, maniacal B12 synth atmospheres, Drexciyan aqua funk, dark robotics, and other mean twisted machine sounds. Ace..!

time is the traitor / LP

Violet Tremors are an anomalous oscillation on the Seismometer. Jessica White & Lorene Simpson have been friends ever since they met as co-workers at Erotic Cabaret in Houston, selling sex-toys decades ago. Today they continue to create pleasurable vibrations of the musical variety. Based in Los Angeles, Jessica & Lorene currently work in multimedia art, photo, film, fashion and music. These 2 bring their love of the visual arts to their live shows. Really cool debut album ;)
